Artificial Intelligence (AI) has moved from a peripheral tool to a defining force reshaping the life sciences. IKMC 2026 – Accelerated Convergence: AI at the frontier of Bioscience, Scale & Intelligence examines this shift at its point of greatest consequence: where algorithms meet biology, and biology meets scale. This year’s edition brings together researchers, clinicians, entrepreneurs, investors and policymakers to explore how AI is accelerating drug discovery, enabling software as a medical device, optimising bioprocess and manufacturing, advancing systems biology and precision medicine, and transforming imaging and clinical decision-making in medical domains.

The theme, Accelerated Convergence, reflects a conviction that the frontier of bioscience is no longer defined by any single discipline. It is defined by the intersection of computational intelligence with biological complexity, and by the pace at which that intersection is now compressing timelines once measured in years into months, and months into weeks. IKMC 2026 will examine what this convergence means for how new therapeutics are discovered, how devices are validated, how manufacturing is scaled, and how clinicians make decisions at the point of care.
As in previous years, the Conference will serve as a platform for India’s life sciences and biomanufacturing ecosystem to engage with global best practice, while asking a more pointed question this year: what will it take for India to lead, rather than follow, at this frontier.
This moment will not wait for India to catch up on its own timeline. Nations that pair deep scientific talent with coherent policy and patient capital are already pulling ahead in the race to own the next generation of therapeutics, diagnostics and devices and the compounding advantage of early movers in AI-native biology
only widens with each cycle. India has the research depth, the clinical scale, and the manufacturing base to compete at this frontier; what it has lacked is a directed strategy that treats AI-bio convergence as a national priority rather than a collection of isolated pilots.

IKMC 2026 makes the case that getting this right through regulatory clarity, public-private risk-sharing, and sustained investment in data and translational infrastructure is what moves India from a capable participant to a seat at the high table of global technology, where the rules of this new era are still being written.
